Acts 3:16, Faith in His Name

Today we are in Acts Chapter 3 with Good Morning Girls!  I did my overall chapter doodle and then zeroed in on verse 16.


God has shared with us, His many and varied names.  Each name gives us a glimpse into His true nature.  Names such as, The Good Shepherd, Creator God, God Almighty, Lord of Hosts and I Am.  The list goes on and on.

But what a precious name is Jesus!  Savior!  It is faith in His name, the One who willingly died on the cross to wash us of our sins, and pay the debt we could never pay, that shows us what true love is.   It is faith in the name of the One who then rose 3 days later, that shows us what it means to live in hope.   It is in His name and under His authority that we can now have a relationship with our Father.

And it is faith in the name of Jesus that allows me to surrender to Him, and take up my cross and joyfully follow wherever He will take me :)

Doesn't it just make you smile to see how passionate the early church was?  There was a true sense of being brothers and sisters in Christ!  Do we feel like that today?

I have been lucky to find a church full of wonderful people that welcomed me right from the start.  I find that I am only close to a few people though.  This is no fault of theirs, but rather I tend to be shy and keep myself  to the sidelines.

At first glance they appear to be people that have it all together.  I have been amazed and blessed by their ability to share their faults and struggles before the congregation.  Instead of trying to pretend that everything is perfect, they share their burdens with their brothers and sisters in Christ.

It is a wonderful thing that happens when people are honest and share their problems with one another.  When they stumble,  they have a family who is ready to hold them up and help them back to the proper path.  They have people who will instantly draw alongside them and lift them up in prayer.

I wonder though, if they realize what a blessing they are to others when they are able to be vulnerable with one another.  They show me (you know me, the one hiding on the sidelines looking in) that it is ok to not be perfect.  And without knowing it, they are showing me what it means to be brothers and sisters in God's amazing family :)

DIY Dinsdag

DIY Dinsdag

Het is weer DIY Dinsdag.

Nu de herfst er weer aankomt dacht ik het is leuk om die ook maar wat in huis te halen.

Ik ben naar de Xenos gereden heb daar een zakje mini herfst blaadjes gekocht ( €1,79 ).

Ik had nog een dienblad wat kaarsen en tada een herfst dienblad voor op je tafel.

Ook jij hebt vast nog wel wat leuke kaarsen in huis of potjes om te versieren en daar een kaarsje in te plaatsen.

Ik ben heel benieuwd naar jullie creaties.

Laat een berichtje achter met een foto, lijkt me super leuk.

Fijne DIY dag.

Yay!  I am so excited!  Today is the first day of the new Good Morning Girls study beginning in the book of Acts!  Now is a great time to start, but even if you happen across this later, just jump in wherever we are at during this study!
